Good To Know
We change our opening times depending on the time of the year. While we are always pleased to accommodate spontaneous diners whenever we can, it’s always appreciated if you reserve so we can ensure our staffing levels are appropriate.
Our online reservations system via this website is the fastest and easiest way to check availability at The George. For reservations for 6 persons or more, please call or email us directly.

Please note that during peak and closed periods, an answering machine is in operation. Feel free to leave us a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
We have space for approximately 50 cars in our main and overflow car parks. Parking is also available in nearby streets, but please consider our neighbours when doing so. For larger parties, the car park at Upton Village Hall is only a few minutes’ walk away.
Please note that we do not allow dogs in the restaurant area, but they are welcome in the rest of the pub.
We are fully DDA compliant, with easy wheelchair access from our main entrance, as well as disabled bathroom and baby changing facilities. We are always happy to help guests who want to want to enjoy our gardens with access during the summer months.

The George at Upton is located in the village of Upton, about a mile from Blewbury and approximately three miles from the nearest town of Didcot, where the nearest railway station is located.
A limited bus service operates to Upton from Didcot and surrounding villages. It is approximately 15 minutes by taxi from Didcot Parkway railway station.
