We offer an exciting blend of seasonal modern, classic traditional dishes, inspired by the cultural melting pot that is British cuisine. Diners can enjoy the convivial and bustling ambiance of the pub and café, or dine in our new 65 cover restaurant. In the summer, alfresco a la carte dining is also available, whether full a la carte in George's Herb Garden, or simple casual dining in the rest of the garden from George's Grill. Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and of course Sunday lunch, you’ll never go hungry at The George. Give the gift of George - we also offer gift vouchers in denominations of £20 upwards.

As parents of young children ourselves, we take children’s food very seriously at The George. Many adult dishes are also available in smaller portions (just ask), and everything is made fresh with the same quality ingredients and to the high standards we expect from the grown-up versions.

This offer is also available to take away for £10.  Advance orders are welcome and we will prepare your order to a set time ready for collection if required.

Served Monday-Friday 3.30pm – 5.30pm (not available at weekends or bank holidays)
Featuring a large bowl of our head chef’s choice of dish, typically this is a pasta dish, stew, bolognaise or similar, to feed four, for just £20.
You can also add family-sized portions of garlic bread and mixed salad for an extra £5 each.
And, to finish off your meal, for an extra £10 you can also enjoy a family selection of our desserts.

If you’re looking for something extremely special, look no further.

Our head chef Arron Varley’s new Summer Tasting Menu is a thrilling journey in food, focussing on the freshest spring ingredients, many sourced from very close to the pub.

The eight dishes are paired with six wines from our extensive collection, taking in a variety of styles including some our our personal favourites.

The perfect way to make a birthday, anniversary, other special event, or even a decadent evening for two.

Pre-booking is required for this menu, and it is available from two to seventy five guests.  Currently available Friday and Saturday evenings, and also available on other days subject to party size, please ensure you let us know you would like this menu.
